Pennsylvania Autism Training Conference (PATC)

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Office of Developmental Programs’ Pennsylvania Autism Training Conference (PATC) was conducted November 1 through 3, 2022. This conference provides professionals working directly with children and/or adults with autism, with tools, strategies, and resources to help provide the most effective support. This year’s theme was PATC: Implement – How can providers take innovative practices and implement them into their daily roles in supporting autistic individuals and their families?

A series of nine essays, Personal Stories, were chosen and then interspersed throughout the conference to document personal experience with autism – Michael’s story being one of those chosen. It was very fitting that the theme of this year’s conference was “Implement,” as the chosen authors share how they have successfully “implemented” what they have learned about their autism into their day-to-day lives. Michael’s essay was also translated into a wonderful animated video.
